Marbles takes the lizard and stares into its blank dead eyes. She hasn't had anything to eat this cycle, and desperately needs this food for hibernation. The scug hesitates, then closes her eyes and begins to eat… trying very hard not to think too much about the fact this lizard was probably sentient in some capacity.

She will never be able to look at these creatures the same way again…

Tbh i am not surprised that a person who openly talked about having drinking problems since 1d days, because of how crazy 1d worked has been agressive. What surprises me is people being surprised (they never seriously saw drunk person?). But i am also confused about this whole book. Apparently Maya said that that book is not fully bout Liam but compilation about her exes and some of the worst parts are not about him. But recently she said that the book is “ofc about him” so what is true then? Or did she meant it that ofc some parts are about him or that whole book is about him?

I also am not surprised- we've learned so much more about the real stories of things and about the guys' actual lives over the last years, and the story that has unfolded around Liam has been totally consistent throughout if you've been following it, and so the information Maya is telling us is shocking and upsetting but not difficult to believe. I got an anon yesterday saying they were worried about getting similar revelations about the other boys, like "if Liam could be doing this we just don't know, any of them could", and while in a way that's always true I guess, anyone could be doing anything in private like... that doesn't really concern me. Because none of these Liam revelations are coming out of nowhere, there have been many MANY steps along the way leading us here if you've been watching, and he has talked openly about both his mental health struggles and his addiction issues. So to answer that anon... to find out something similar about Louis would in contrast contradict everything we know about him and no I'm not worried about it. Is he an abuser or a loose cannon, well that news would truly shock me to my core, I will be honest. But anyway as for the book I don't find it strange that she was nervous when it came out and treading lightly and later decided, fuck it. In the absolutely on point tiktok she dropped today (YES👏GIRL👏FUCKING TELL THEM👏) she even mentions attempts to keep her from publishing the book, presumably by Liam's team, that I am riveted by and cannot WAIT to hear more details about actually- like I said I don't find it at all strange that she was nervous and downplayed it a bit then. But if she says now that it's just about Liam, well, I would say it's been clear from the beginning that the book is their story. Maya herself brought up the parallel of songs being written about stuff and I think it's the same thing; it's true (she was in an abusive relationship that involved certain kinds of events) but maybe not 100% literal (I'm sure details were changed to make the story work, it's not like a word for word timeline of their interactions or whatever).

How did Rarity and April-Jacqueline meet in the GG20's? Do they know each other well or is it like it is in the show where they're acquaintances and then become friends through Thea?

While AJ's lived in Ponyville all her life, Rarity moved there in around 1926 (the AU takes place in 1929). The two weren't really in contact for a while and definitely didn't like each other. AJ heard the new clothing retailer was a total priss and Rarity turned her nose at farmwork. The two probably made fun of each other behind their backs.

By the time Thea moves in, their relationship development's already underway. They'd already be friends, and while not especially close, the two would take "interest" in each other. Though they won't act on their feelings until later. Rarity will still pursue other men at the start. I wanna show that there's some history between them before Thea comes into the story. (I also wanna skip past the two arguing and hating each other at the start because it's not as fun to write.)

Hello Heather, i might be too late to the party and feel a little dumb asking this now but what is the significance of the medallion TK wears around his neck? i am not sure if we ever got an explanation in canon about it or if that was something they talked about in any interviews?

The medallion is for the 252 firehouse in NY. On one side it says Fire and Rescue and on the other side it has 252 on it.

Ronen requested it for the show. He said he knew some first responders growing up and they always had some kind of token like that and he wanted to pay homage.

They never explained it on the show, but my head canon has always been that he got it less because he worked with the 252 and more as a token of memory for the ones who were lost in 9/11. Just because, for me, that makes more sense as to why he continued to wear the 252 one in Austin instead of getting a 126 one made.

Hi anon—thanks! LOL, that scene is from many years ago, and iirc was originally in a still-earlier fic of mine that I'd decided to overhaul, so I'm glad it's still entertaining.

And I definitely do still enjoy the idea of Darcy as someone who gets on with children rather better than Other Adults He Must Speak To At Parties. (He's raised a child but he's never been good company at a party :P)

And yes, TOS is an investment (nearly 80 episodes, I think), but I do appreciate hearing that you've enjoyed the many years of P&P fic and meta, as well!

I think Darcy certainly knew that Caroline wanted to marry him before they ever arrived at Netherfield, likely well before. Certainly she wouldn't have pursued him the way she did without marriage in mind, IMO, and by age 27, he's intensely familiar with that kind of pursuit. Attempts at flirtation from women who regard him as less a person than a walking Ancestry.com tree with attached land, wealth, and power are not new to him. And what she's doing is highly visible; it's later, but I think her obviousness is clearly indicated by Elizabeth's thoughts about it:

“You know of course that Lady Catherine de Bourgh and Lady Anne Darcy were sisters; consequently that she is aunt to the present Mr Darcy.” “No, indeed, I did not. I knew nothing at all of Lady Catherine’s connections. I never heard of her existence till the day before yesterday.” “Her daughter, Miss de Bourgh, will have a very large fortune, and it is believed that she and her cousin will unite the two estates.” This information made Elizabeth smile, as she thought of poor Miss Bingley. Vain indeed must be all her attentions, vain and useless her affection for his sister and her praise of himself, if he were already self-destined to another.

Later, Elizabeth tells Jane:

No one who has ever seen you together can doubt his affection; Miss Bingley, I am sure, cannot: she is not such a simpleton. Could she have seen half as much love in Mr Darcy for herself, she would have ordered her wedding clothes.

I think the Caroline situation in particular is complicated from the outset by the fact that she's Bingley's sister, and they're inevitably thrown together as a result (if she weren't Bingley's sister, I doubt Darcy would tolerate her at all). That's all the more of a concern at Netherfield; Darcy is not only Bingley's friend but his guest, and Caroline is primarily acting as hostess. It would be not just inconsiderate but actively rude and inappropriate (in a way he usually is not—he tends to cool civility most of the time and gets icier when he's pushed) to make a big deal out of her behavior, though he does get progressively more annoyed with her over time.

I've seen the argument that Darcy initially likes her, at least as a fellow hater, and the relationship only gradually freezes over as he himself develops away from where she's at. I don't agree. She is a fellow hater, and since he has to put up with her anyway, I think he finds what mild entertainment there is in this, but I don't think he's ever interested in her or ignorant of her motives or basic character. As the novel opens, he's already aware that she's not especially discriminating or clever about her grievances, IMO, and I don't think his behavior towards her rises much above empty courtesy. I think he understands and dislikes her flirty "teasing" of him from day 1, but initially, it's just grating rather than a real affront. As she escalates to worse and pushier behavior, his annoyance gets sharper and more apparent, though still within the forms of basic decorum (and of course, when he does really make himself clear, they're at Pemberley and he is in a better position to do it).
